Custom Defensive Barrier System for Atacama Salt Flat Mining Project

This project involved supplying a modular, field-fillable defensive barrier system for a mining site in Chile’s Atacama Salt Flat. The barrier was custom-designed to protect critical infrastructure under extreme environmental conditions, including high altitude, intense UV radiation, highly corrosive brine, and seismic activity. The client required rapid deployment and reliable protection against vehicle impact, ballistic threats, and potential intrusion.

The modular barrier consists of high-strength galvanized steel wire mesh with a honeycomb structure and heavy-duty UV-stabilized geotextile liners. It is on-site filled with local sand or gravel to ensure blast resistance, impact protection, and stability in harsh desert conditions, while maintaining compliance with international protection standards.
